Seroepidemiological survey of HIV-1 and HIV-2 infections in the five regions of Ivory Coast

In 1989 a survey by cluster sampling of 5 urban and rural regions in Ivory Coast showed HIV seroprevalence rates ranging from 2.2% in the north to 8.3% in the south. The total number of adults tested was 2302. In each region HIV-1 infection was more prevalent than HIV-2 infection.
