Serologic diagnosis of encephalomyocarditis virus infection in swine by the microtiter serum neutralization test

Serologic diagnosis of encephalomyocarditis virus infection in swine by the microtiter serum neutralization test

Journal of Veterinary Diagnostic Investigation 2(4): 347-350

The objective of this work was to measure antibody titres to encephalomyocarditis virus in experimentally infected pigs to establish an appropriate diagnostic titre for the serum neutralization (SN) test as well as an estimate of sensitivity and specificity values. 11 of 14 pigs 2 months of age were inoculated i.m. with 1.78 x 105 TCID of the NVSL strain in a single injection. Three contact pigs were placed with the experimentally infected pigs.
