Serological detection of mycoplasma-like organisms in plants and vector leafhoppers using polyclonal antibodies

Serological detection of mycoplasma-like organisms in plants and vector leafhoppers using polyclonal antibodies

Recent advances in mycoplasmology Proceedings of the 7th congress of the International Organization for Mycoplasmology, Baden near Vienna, 1988: 276-279

Antigens of mycloplasma-like organisms (MLOs) were unambiguously detected by indirect ELISA in partially purified as well as in purified preparations obtained from plants infected with aster yellows (AY), clover phyllody (CP) or eastern peach-X (EPX) diseases. This form of ELISA was considerably more sensitive than direct (sandwich) ELISA. Heterologous serological reactions by indirect ELISA showed that EPX can be differentiated for AY and CP diseases.
