Serological follow up study of pediatric patients with giardiasis

Twenty five children, 1.5 to 15 years old, infected with Giardia lamblia were evaluated according to their gastrointestinal symptoms. The patients were treated with metronidazole 20 mg/kg/day for 7 days and their progress followed up by stool examinations and serological studies (indirect immunofluorescence) over the next 9 months.
