Serological investigation of Alnus incana X glutinosa hybrids and their parental species

Studies of antigenic properties of proteins from leaves of 20-year old trees of A. incana, A. glutinosa and 5 of their hybrids, indicated specificity of the protein spectrum of each parental species and intermediate character of proteins of the hybrid forms. The serological techniques identifying homology of individual protein fractions allowed the parental input into the hybrid protein spectrum to be defined.
