Serological studies of infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, parainfluenza 3, bovine viral diarrhea, and bovine respiratory syncytial viruses in calves following entry to a bull test station

Serological studies of infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, parainfluenza 3, bovine viral diarrhea, and bovine respiratory syncytial viruses in calves following entry to a bull test station

Canadian Veterinary Journal 32(7): 427-429

In a study of 283 purebred bull calves 6-9 months of age from 88 Saskatchewan owners received at the Record of Performance Bull Testing Station, Saskatoon, in 1987, serum samples were taken on days 0, 14, 28 and 70 and tested for antibody titres to the 4 viruses using ELISA. Antibody titres to IBR, PI3, BRS and BVD viruses were present in 20%, 81%, 32% and 21% of calves, respectively, on arrival.
