Serum mediated immunosuppression in visceral leishmaniasis

The mechanisms which mediate the suppressive activity of sera in visceral leishmaniasis were evaluated. The role of IgG as a suppressive element was also investigated. Sera were obtained from 19 clinically and parasitologically confirmed visceral leishmaniasis patients and from normal volunteers with no history or laboratory findings of visceral leishmaniasis.
