Serum total calcium, ionized calcium ion and lipid compositions in hypertensive Koreans

An epidemiological survey was made on dietary calcium intake, serum total calcium Ca and ionized Ca ion, and serum lipid compositions. Compared with 120 normotensive controls, 101 hypertensive subjects had significantly higher serum cholesterol and triglyceride but lower high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and higher ratio of total cholesterol to HDL cholesterol.
