Service life of New Zealand pine in cooling towers

Service life of New Zealand pine in cooling towers

Proceedings of the second Pacific Timber Engineering Conference, University of Auckland, New Zealand, 28-31 August 1989 Volume 2: 205-207

New Zealand radiata pine (Pinus radiata) treated with copper chrome arsenate appears to be capable of performing well for some 35 yr in cooling towers, based on the evidence of 25 yr service. The preservative loading needed for such performance may not be as high as that frequently specified.
