Service stations for sows. Group sow keeping with responder feeding - results and prospects

Service stations for sows. Group sow keeping with responder feeding - results and prospects

Landtechnik 46(4): 169-171

The use of responder feeding for sows is examined. Possible methods of reducing aggression and competition between the sows are presented including nighttime feeding, the implementation of group loose boxes and the exclusion of sows from the station if they are not due for a feed. Piglet production rates from responder feeding systems and other feeding systems are compared.
