Sesamoid dehiscence after partial and total rupture of the distal sesamoid ligaments

Sesamoid dehiscence after partial and total rupture of the distal sesamoid ligaments

Pferdeheilkunde 7(6): 335-340, 343-345

A retrospective study of 1000 latero-medial x-rays of fore and hind limbs of lame and sound horses was used to evaluate the physiological variations and pathological deviations occurring in the distance between the basis of the proximal sesamoid bones and the palmar plantar eminence of the proximal phalanx (sesamoid distance).
