The concn of ureides and amino acids in the shoots, roots (of a few), xylem exudate and nodule tissue of soyabeans, mungbeans, S. rostrata, A. indica, C. juncea, S. cannabina, S. sesban, C. spectabilis, maize and sorghum were determined. The concn of ureides and amino acids in nodule tissues of pigeonpeas, sword beans adzuki beans faba beans and peas were determined. Soyabeans and mungbeans accumulated large amounts of ureides in the vegetative organs.
