Sesquiterpene lactones from Echinops spinosissimus

Pharmazie 45(1): 70-71

Whole plant material afforded lupeyl acetate, taraxasteryl acetate, lupeol, stigmasterol- beta -D-glucoside and sitosterol- beta -D-glucoside. Another sample of the aerial parts yielded, in addition, vailline, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, p-hydroxyacetophenone, coniferaldehyde, 4 beta ,14-dihydro-3-dehydro-zaluzanin-C and 4 beta ,14,11 beta ,13-tetrahydro-3-dehydro-zaluzanin-C.
