Problems of disposal or possible utilization of vine cuttings gathered annually in large vineyards are discussed. Economic factors involved in burning are compared with shredding of cuttings prior to their further processing for use as insulation boards, mulching, etc. Various combinations of machinery suitable for pruning, gathering, transport and shredding, and the labour and energy required for these operations, are given in tables.
