Socio economic survey of an affluent village in Himachal Pradesh a study of village Kiari in district Shimla: viii + 142pp.



The main objective of the study was to examine the socioeconomic condition of villagers in Kiari village in Kotkhai Tehsil in Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh, India. The 92 households of the village were classified into five size groups, i.e., sub-marginal, marginal, small, medium and large. The reference period of the study was 1989-90. The results confirm the Kiari village is affluent with a per capita income of Rs12 284 which is about four times higher than the state average.
