Sorghum in the semi-arid tropics: agroclimatology, physiology and modelling

The climatic resources and the problems of sorghum production in different agroclimatic regions of the semi-arid tropics are highlighted, and the extent to which physiological knowledge can be applied to improve and stabilize sorghum yield is discussed. The effects of different environmental factors on crop processes during each growth stage need to be integrated for a better understanding of genotype x environment interactions.
