Spatial distribution of denitrification in an artificial wetland
Soil samples from the rhizosphere of an artificial wetland planted with Phragmites were separated into: fine sediments, fine roots, rhizomes and gravel. Using the acetylene inhibition technique the denitrification activity was measured as released N2O by a gas chromatograph.
