Abstract
Among the pure breeds, body weights at birth and at 3 and 6 months of age were lowest for Cheju cattle and highest for Holsteins. Among the crossbreds, the least-squares constants for the two 2-way crosses studied (Brahman X Cheju and Santa Gertrudis X Cheju) were negative for 3- and 6-month weights, while those of 3-breed crosses were positive, the highest value being for Charolais X (Santa Gertrudis X Cheju). Least-squares constants of body measurements for the different breed types are also tabulated. [For Pts. 2 and 3 see pp. 6-10 and 11-15 resp. of the same number of the journal].
