15 Charolais X (Brahman X Cheju) cattle (av. liveweight = 421.8 kg) were allocated to be slaughtered at 550, 600 or 650 kg body weight. For the 3 groups, actual slaughter weight averaged 537.2, 574.7 and 649.0 kg resp., daily gain 1.28, 1.25 and 1.24 kg, total digestible nutrients consumed per kg weight gain 5.31, 5.52 and 5.72 kg, and dressing percentage 62, 61 and 62. Beef grade quality did not differ significantly among groups.
