Studies on the continuous use of N, P and K in Dashehari cv. of mango. I. Effect on tree growth, yield and fruit quality

Nutritional experiments were started in 1971 on trees planted in 1968. N was applied at 100, 200 and 300 g, P2O5 at 43.7 and 87.4 g and K2O at 83.0 and 166.0 g per year of tree age over 12 years. The fertilizers were applied in 2 split doses in Feb. and Sep. Yields in 1984, the final year of the experiments, were very variable ranging from 0.5 to 23.7 kg/tree, with 11.0 kg/tree in the unfertilized control. In the case of P and K rates, yields were greater at the lower than at the higher rates.
