Study of the Bactoscan 8000 and its comparison with the agar plate count method

Alimentaria ( 220): 33-38

400 samples of herd milk from refrigerated tanks were tested using the Bactoscan 8000 and agar plate methods. The CV of repeatability was between 4 and 6%, the Bactoscan method being more precise than the plate count, and carry-over value was <0.3. Correlation coeff. between the 2 methods was +0.898 and residual s.d. was 0.248.
