The ice nucleation activities of Pseudomonas syringae 8401, P. fluorescens 8701, and Erwinia herbicola 8701 and 8708 changed according to storage temp. of the bacteria before freezing, remaining stable at 25 degrees C but decreasing with temp. >40 degrees. The reduced activity was restored to normal by changing the storage temp. from 40-45 degrees to -4 degrees for 2 h.
