The objectives, methods and budget of the Blue Nile Health Project, which began in 1980, covering the locations of the Gezira and Rahad Irrigation Schemes in Sudan, are described; there is specific reference to Schistosoma mansoni, malaria and diarrhoeal diseases, which are the infections specifically targeted by the project.
