The Kenya ceramic jiko: a manual for stovemakers
The Kenya ceramic jiko is a charcoal-burning stove consisting of a ceramic liner fitted inside a metal case. This book provides guidance on methods of both producing and promoting the stove, the success of which is demonstrated by its acceptance in Africa in recent years. It describes the methods of production, and discusses the questions of product quality and creative means to bring about the cooperation and trust that is required between potters and metal smiths.
