An investigation into the duration of the developmental stages of T. splendens, and it predation on Aedes aegypti, was performed under laboratory conditions (26+or-2 degrees C and 70-80% RH). The average pre-oviposition period was 13.3 days and average egg stage lasted 2.1 days; 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th larval instars lasted on average 1.9, 2.1, 3.6 and 9.8 days, respectively, and the pupal stage, 5.9 days. Adult females had an average life span of 57.1 days, and adult males 47.5 days. Females laid an average of 135 eggs.
