Maize grain was ensiled at varying moisture contents and the subsequent silage was given to growing pigs. Moisture content had no significant effect on the nutrient content of the silage, except that albumins and globulins increased with increasing moisture content to 37%. Silage pH was not affected by moisture content. Lactic acid content was highest at 25.1 to 28.0% moisture.
