The effects of different nitrogen levels on nodulation, nitrogen supply and yield of groundnuts

Journal of South China Agricultural University 12(1): 68-72

In field trials in 1985, groundnuts were given 0, 2.5, 5 or 10 kg N/mu. With 2.5 kg N, nodule DW was decreased and nodulation was delayed compared with plants given no N. Up to podding the plant N content increased with increasing rate of N, but after podding the N content was higher with increasing number and DW of nodules/plant. With the highest rate of N, plant N content was highest at the pod-pin stage, but with the other rates it was highest at the podding stage.
