The dose-dependent stimulation of lipogenesis by beta-cell tropin (BCT) was studied in lactating and non-lactating rat brown adipocytes. BCT increased lipogenesis 2-fold compared with 3-fold stimulation by insulin in non-lactating rats, but the effective concn. of BCT was substantially lower than that of insulin.
