The effects of insulin and the pituitary peptide beta-cell tropin on the incorporation of D-3-superscript 3H-glucose into lipid in brown adipocytes from lactating and non-lactating rats

, : The effects of insulin and the pituitary peptide beta-cell tropin on the incorporation of D-3-superscript 3H-glucose into lipid in brown adipocytes from lactating and non-lactating rats. Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications 181(3): 1437-1441

The dose-dependent stimulation of lipogenesis by beta-cell tropin (BCT) was studied in lactating and non-lactating rat brown adipocytes. BCT increased lipogenesis 2-fold compared with 3-fold stimulation by insulin in non-lactating rats, but the effective concn. of BCT was substantially lower than that of insulin.
