The effects of lindane poisoning on N- acetyldopamine and N-acetyl 5-hydroxytryptamine concentrations in the brain of Locusta migratoria

, : The effects of lindane poisoning on N- acetyldopamine and N-acetyl 5-hydroxytryptamine concentrations in the brain of Locusta migratoria. Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety 20(1): 115-120

When 5th-instar nymphs of Locusta migratoria were treated topically with lindane at 3 mu g/g (a kd50 dose), relatively low concn of N- acetyldopamine were observed in the cerebral ganglia. Incubation of ganglia resulted in increased concn of N-acetyldopamine and N-acetyl 5-hydroxytryptamine. Lindane significantly reduces levels of the 2 compounds in the cerebral ganglia.
