The effects of octopamine on juvenile hormone biosynthesis, electrophysiology, and cAMP content of the corpora allata of the cockroach Diploptera punctata

, : The effects of octopamine on juvenile hormone biosynthesis, electrophysiology, and cAMP content of the corpora allata of the cockroach Diploptera punctata. Journal of Comparative Physiology B, Biochemical, Systemic, and Environmental Physiology 160(3): 241-249

Juvenile hormone (JH) production by the corpora allata of the adult female of D. punctata can be modulated by treatment with the biogenic amine, octopamine. Endogenous octopamine was identified within the corpora allata (CA), using HPLC and electrochemical detection.
