The effects of paclobutrazol on growth, chlorophyll content and tolerance of drought and rust in Korean lawngrass (Zoysia japonica Steud.)
In pot trials in 1987, paclobutrazol was applied to Zoysia japonica as a soil drench at 100-800 p.p.m. Application of 100-200 p.p.m. paclobutrazol retarded plant growth, reducing plant height by 50%. Higher concentrations had greater effects. Residual effects were found 2 years after application. Paclobutrazol increased leaf chlorophyll contents and prolonged the green period to late Oct.
