The effects of paclobutrazol on growth, chlorophyll content and tolerance of drought and rust in Korean lawngrass (Zoysia japonica Steud.)

, : The effects of paclobutrazol on growth, chlorophyll content and tolerance of drought and rust in Korean lawngrass (Zoysia japonica Steud.). Journal of the Korean Society for Horticultural Science 32(1): 111-116

In pot trials in 1987, paclobutrazol was applied to Zoysia japonica as a soil drench at 100-800 p.p.m. Application of 100-200 p.p.m. paclobutrazol retarded plant growth, reducing plant height by 50%. Higher concentrations had greater effects. Residual effects were found 2 years after application. Paclobutrazol increased leaf chlorophyll contents and prolonged the green period to late Oct.
