In 1985-89 in semiarid Mediterranean areas, natural pasture, pasture after taking one cereal crop, pasture given 150 kg superphosphate/ha or pasture sown with Trifolium glomeratum, T. cherleri and T. striatum gave DM yields of 1.44, 1.14, 1.47 and 1.32 t/ha, resp. At stocking rates of 1.5 or 3.0 ewes/ha DM yields were 1.71 and 0.96 t/ha, resp.
