The effects of tefluthrin on terrestrial non-target organisms

, : The effects of tefluthrin on terrestrial non-target organisms. Proceedings of the Brighton Crop Protection Conference, Pests and Diseases (3): 975-980

Studies on the effects of tefluthrin applied as a granular or seed treatment on soil microflora, earthworms, beneficial arthropods, birds and mammals are summarized. In the granular formulation, tefluthrin has low toxicity to birds, with even passerines needing to consume more than 4000 granules to obtain a median lethal dose (MLD), while larger birds would to have to ingest up to 3 million granules to reach this level.
