The effects on growth components and quality of three strawberry cultivars of covering the soil with plastic film, row type and a reduced dosage of fungicide against grey mould (Botrytis cinerea)
The cultivars Senga Sengana, Korona and Rubina were grown in single rows (120 cm apart, plants 30 cm apart, 2777 plants/daa) or double rows (150 cm from centre to centre, rows 40 cm apart, plants 33 cm apart, 4040 plants/daa). The soil was either left bare or covered with a mulch of brown polyethylene. Plants received 5 sprays of full-strength (150 ml/1000 m) or half-strength (75 ml) vinclozolin, i.e. 0.10 or 0.05%. The cultivar Rubina gave the heaviest yield, followed by Korona.
