82 patients with chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum malaria in southern Vietnam were treated either (group 1, 45 patients) with a single dose of Fansimef tablets (each containing 274.12 g of mefloquine hydrochloride, 500 mg of sulfadoxine and 25 mg of pyrimethamine) or (group 2, 33 patients) with quinine and Fansidar (pyrimethamine sulfadoxine).
