, : The efficacy of N-hydroxymethyl-methionine-Ca (HMM-Ca) as a methionine supplement for wool growth. Proceedings of the Australian Society of Animal Production 18: 176-179

In experiment 1, 24 Merino ewes were given daily pellets based on lucerne meal and oat grain 1000 g without or with additional N-hydroxymethyl-methionine-Ca (HMM-Ca) 4.43 g/day (equivalent to 3 g of DL-methionine). HMM-Ca increased wool growth by about 11% in 2 successive 8-week periods; the increase was not significant. There were no significant effects on the characteristics and composition of wool.
