, : The efficiency of village renewal - case studies. An investigation of the costs and benefits of village renewal commissioned by the Federal German Minister for Food, Agriculture and Forestry. Schriftenreihe des Bundesministers fur Ernahrung, Landwirtschaft und Forsten Reihe B, Flurbereinigung ( 77): 201pp.

Village renewal is one of the joint (Federal and Lander) tasks (GAK) carried out under German provisions for the improvement of agricultural structure and coastal protection. In 1990 Federal support amounted to DM 136.24 million in addition to the contributions from individual Lander to their own schemes. The study seeks to evaluate the benefits from this expenditure in terms of how well it has contributed to the general agricultural policy and rural development aims of GAK.
