The efficient use of capital in agriculture

Capital efficiency may be considered from various economic and socioeconomic perspectives. It was only during the last decade that the South African agricultural sector achieved higher capital efficiency than before 1960. This is in contrast with other sectors of the economy which experienced declining capital productivity over the past three decades. However, since 1985, substituting capital with labour is no longer of benefit to the agricultural industry.
