The feasibility of mapping soil erosion from SPOT data: a case study in Deqing County, South China

The feasibility of mapping soil erosion from SPOT data: a case study in Deqing County, South China

ASPRS/ACSM Annual Convention 3: 146-154

The generation of an erosion map in a severely-eroded area, Deqing County of South China is described. Both Panchromatic and Multispectral Linear Array (MLA) band images of SPOT data were utilized in preparing the map. The MLA bands were interpolated into 10 m to be registered with the Panchromatic band. A number of supervised classifications were completed, based on which a map displaying the eroded areas with various degrees of severity was generated.
