The manufacturing of particleboard. III. Board quality and decay resistance of particleboard manufactured from fast-growing species in the Philippines

The manufacturing of particleboard. III. Board quality and decay resistance of particleboard manufactured from fast-growing species in the Philippines

Journal of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tottori University 25: 15-24

Particleboard was produced from giant ipil-ipil (Leucaena leucocephala) and kaatoan bangkal (Anthocephalus chinensis) grown in the Philippines. The boards were bonded with urea-formaldehyde, phenol-formaldehyde and isocyanate resins. Bending strength, water absorption, and decay resistance (to white rot fungus, Coriolus versicolor, and brown rot fungus, Tyromyces palustris) of the boards were investigated.
