Abstract
The land resources of south-east Asia are considered including the topography and geology of the area, the variations in climate and the types of land use and soils. The region is divided into climatic areas and data on the different water resource regimes for sites in the different areas are compared. Data are also given for the soil nutrient contents for samples from several sites. In each case the resources of mainland continental Asia and of the islands off the coast of the continent are considered separately.
