Yields of P. penetrans spores from roots of tomato plants inoculated with different numbers of spore-encumbered Meloidogyne incognita juveniles were compared at 25-33 degrees C. Production from roots of plants grown in 1 litre pots increased linearly with an increase of nematodes from 1000 to 5000. A similar, but less marked, trend occurred with spore yields from 0.3 litre pots inoculated with 500-3000 nematodes.
