The tourism industry: an international analysis: 185-204



Many developing countries have come to regard tourism as an appropriate tool for economic development, such countries often being considered as having a comparative advantage in tourism, owing to their attractive climatic, cultural and scenic resources. However, destination areas only supply part of the tourism product, in particular accommodation, infrastructure and other destination specific characteristics.
