The use of tree legumes as fallow crops to control weeds and provide forage as a basis for a sustainable agricultural system

The use of tree legumes as fallow crops to control weeds and provide forage as a basis for a sustainable agricultural system

Proceedings, 13th Asian Pacific Weed Science Society Conference ( 1): 121-126

The use of crop fallows for weed control in the Asian-Pacific region is discussed. The fallow crop normally consists of perennial trees and shrubs that colonize the cropping area during the fallow. With the increasing demand for land as populations expand, the length of the fallow period is shortening, reducing its value for weed control and the restoration of soil fertility.
