The usefulness of Bactoscan in the determination of total bacteria in raw milk

The usefulness of Bactoscan in the determination of total bacteria in raw milk

Brief Communications of the XXIII International Dairy Congress, Montreal, October 8-12, 1990, Vol I: 242

In tests on raw milk over a 6-month period, the Bactoscan (3rd generation) showed s.d. of repeatability of 0.031 log units vs. 0.080 log units for the standard plate count. Residual s.d. was 0.31 log units for all counts and 0.23 log units for counts >105 c.f.u./ml.
