Tinea corporis by Trichophyton violaceum - report of 3 cases and review of Japanese literature

Tinea corporis by Trichophyton violaceum - report of 3 cases and review of Japanese literature

Japanese Journal of Medical Mycology 33(2): 191-197

Well-demarcated, scaly, erythematous lesions with central healing were observed on the face of a 71-yr-old woman. A similar lesion was seen on the left lower leg of a 3-yr-old girl and erythematous lesions in the occipital region were found in a 58-yr-old woman, the grandmother of the second patient. T. violaceum was isolated on Sabouraud's dextrose agar from the lesional scales in all cases.
