Tissue-culture regenerated sorghums with soil stress tolerance
Some of the somaclonal variants obtained from in vitro culture of cultivars RTx430 and Hegari are noted. These include somaclones with resistance to fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) and tolerance of acid soil from Hegari, and somaclones with male sterility restorer and maintainer abilities, tolerance of acid soil and resistance to anthracnose (Colletotrichum graminicola) from RTx430.
