Use of feed tables or regression equations to estimate the nutritive value of basic ingredients of mixed feeds for dairy cows

Use of feed tables or regression equations to estimate the nutritive value of basic ingredients of mixed feeds for dairy cows

Revue de l' Agriculture 41(6): 1417-1430

Chemical composition, digestibility in vivo and energy value were estimated for 28 mixed feeds for dairy cows based on 28 basic ingredients. Values were compared with composition and digestibility coefficients estimated from data for the ingredients in Dutch composition tables (CVB, 1983) and energy values estimated using 3 types of formula and Dutch, French (INRA, 1978), German (DLG, 1982) and UK (ADAS, 1984) tables.
