The experimental determination of soil erodibility by the Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) requires different procedures to those used for determining soil erodibility with the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). Results of a study of rangeland and arable soils over much of the USA are discussed. Analyses show that erodibility values have little quantitative resemblance to those of the USLE.
