A population of 72 megagametophytes from a single tree of Norway Spruce (Picea abies), obtained from a natural stand in Pistoia, Italy, were used to produce a genetic linkage map by means of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers. Ninety-six random decamers used as primers yielded 185 polymorphic loci showing Mendelian inheritance.
